Join NC Poet Laureate Jaki Shelton Green for an invigorating two-hour ekphrastic poetry workshop exploring the exhibition Grace Hartigan: The Gift of Attention. The program is designed to expand your experience with art and inspire your writing.
The tradition of engaging with works of art through poetry as known as ekphrasis (the Greek ek for out of + phrasis for expression). We invite you to learn how to use art from Grace Hartigan as a springboard for your own poems, stories, and memoirs.
The workshop is open to writers at all stages of their careers and will offer poets a range of approaches to connect with a work of art in another medium.
