Join writer-scholar Jameela F. Dallis to make language art! Write ekphrastic poems inspired by pieces from the Museum’s collection. Ekphrasis means “description” in Greek, and ekphrastic poems are often vivid descriptions of works of art. Through grounding exercises, reflections, and prompts, participants respond to selected artworks in fun and unexpected ways. All are welcome, and no previous poetry writing experience is necessary. Discussion and sharing are encouraged.

Space is limited. For ages 16 and up.
