Yom HaShoah Concert

,
Raleigh

Description

For the NCMA’s third Yom HaShoah concert, we remember the story of survival, heroism, and hope connected to Raleigh’s very own Zalman Raffael, Carolina Ballet’s artistic director. Raffael’s grandfather, Zalman Grinberg, is the inspiration for this program with works by Erwin Schulhoff, Paul Ben Haim, and Phillip Glass. Jacqueline Wolborsky, principal second violinist in the North Carolina Symphony, leads a quartet of musicians in collaboration with dancers from Carolina Ballet.

This concert is a program of the NCMA’s Initiative for Jewish Art and Culture, made possible through the generosity of our donors, whose annual gifts have supported programming for the 2026 season.

Program
Five Pieces for String Quartet by Erwin Schulhoff

Improvisation and Dance, op. 30, by Paul Ben Haim

String Quartet No. 3 (“Mishima”) by Phillip Glass
