May is nationally recognized as a time to focus on mental health and well-being. To explore the powerful connection between healing and art, join us for an evening with seven-time Grammy-nominated performing artist Nnenna Freelon.
Throughout this evening author event, Freelon guides the audience through an intimate blend of music, spoken word, and storytelling that reflects on love, loss, and the creative process. The program connects to her latest book, Beneath the Skin of Sorrow: Improvisations on Loss, which invites readers into a thoughtful conversation about how grief and creativity intersect, drawing from the rich traditions of Black heritage and the expressive language of jazz.
Ticket purchase includes access to the event. Refreshments will be available for purchase during the show. Attendees will also enjoy special pricing and author signing of the book Beneath the Skin of Sorrow: Improvisations on Loss.
