If you enjoy watching and talking about films, join us for a virtual meeting of the NCMA Film Club! This month’s selection, inspired by Romare Bearden’s New Orleans: Ragging Home, is the documentary film A Tuba to Cuba, which follows the New Orleans’ Preservation Hall Jazz Band as they travel through Cuba to retrace their musical roots.

We will have two special guests for the discussion. Juan Álamo is an internationally known performer and director of the percussion ensemble at UNC–Chapel Hill. Diego Avilez is a multi-instrumentalist, singer, and community organizer who’s also the front man for Latin fusion group Tumbao and cofounder and director of Oak City Music Collective.

Thank you for your interest!
