This 10-hour course explores the relevance of visual literacy in the classroom and its connection to the North Carolina Essential Standards. The five modules in the course include opportunities for educators to practice concept mapping, inquiry-based discussion, and multimodal activities in their own teaching, whether in-person or virtual, and reflect within a collaborative peer learning community.

Participants learn strategies to guide discussions about works of art and create a portfolio of visual literacy activities based on the NCMA’s collection. For teachers of all disciplines. A certificate of participation for 10 hours will be provided (1 CEU, with prior approval from the local school system).
