The Department of Natural and Cultural Resources and the North Carolina Museum of Art require family program participants ages 13 and up to show proof of COVID-19 vaccination or a negative COVID-19 NAAT or PCR test result; test results must be within 72 hours of the event. Please plan to have one of these items in hand for Museum personnel upon entry.

Guided by expert artists, look closely at original works of art and find inspiration to create your own projects during these two-hour studio workshops.

This isn’t that kind of block party, but you’ll be able to celebrate what a simple shape—the humble square—can become in a workshop that explores pattern, shape, and color. Take inspiration from art built from squares and blocks in the Museum collection and transform our four-sided friend into a large and dynamic collaborative work of art right before your eyes!

All participants (children and adults) must have a ticket. Best for families with children ages 5 to 11.
