The Department of Natural and Cultural Resources and the North Carolina Museum of Art require family program participants ages 13 and up to show proof of COVID-19 vaccination or a negative COVID-19 NAAT or PCR test result; test results must be within 72 hours of the event. Please plan to have one of these items in hand upon entry for Museum personnel.
Reflect together on big (and sometimes tough) ideas about the world and ourselves through art. This in-person workshop includes a guided group conversation about works of art with an expressive arts therapist and hands-on art making with a focus on exploration.
About the instructor
Natalia Torres del Valle, LCMHCA, is an expressive arts psychotherapist passionate about helping children find meaningful ways of communicating beyond words. In addition to many years of teaching at the Museum, she received a BS in Elementary Education and ESL Education from NC State University and an MA in Clinical Mental Health specializing in Expressive Arts Therapy from Lesley University.
