Effective Monday, October 4, the Department of Natural and Cultural Resources and the NC Museum of Art will require performing arts, film and lecture program participants age 13 and up to show proof of COVID-19 vaccination or a negative COVID-19 NAAT or PCR test result. Test results must be within 72 hours of the event. Please plan to have one of these items in hand for Museum personnel upon entry.
Adapted from the Yoruba tale “The Tortoise and the Wisdom of the World,” this performance features original music by Elmer Gibson performed by youth string quartet United Strings of Color. The story is narrated by voice-over actor Henry O. Lovett, and original artwork by students from Poe Elementary School in Raleigh accompany this innovative presentation. Children ages 4 through 11 are sure to enjoy the performance. A short lecture and Q and A on Yoruba culture follows.
