Singin’ in the Rain (1952). Directed by Stanley Donen and Gene Kelly, 103 min., G
During the transition from silent films to talkies, everyone in the movie business has trouble adapting, including famous on-screen couple Don Lockwood (Gene Kelly) and Lina Lamont. When their latest film is remade into a musical, Kathy Selden, a woman with a beautiful voice, comes to save the picture and knock the leading man off his feet. “There is no movie musical more fun than Singin’ in the Rain, and few that remain as fresh over the years.” (Chicago Sun-Times)
