This documentary follows three Latinx girls and a drag artist living in Durham as they celebrate their quinceañera, a traditional rite of passage. The intimate film explores the complexities of growing up between two cultures. Originally produced as a web series for ITVS Storycast, FIESTA! Quinceañera in its feature-length version was produced by Nuevo South and broadcast in 2018 during season 4 of PBS North Carolina’s REEL SOUTH.
A discussion and Q and A with the filmmaker and some special guests follow the screening.
