About Arturo O'Farrill
Proclaimed by the New York Times as the โleader of the โfirst family of Afro-Cuban jazz,โโ pianist, composer, and educator Arturo OโFarrill was born in Mexico and grew up in New York City. His professional career began with the Carla Bley Band and continued as a solo performer with a wide spectrum of artists, including Dizzy Gillespie, Lester Bowie, Wynton Marsalis, and Harry Belafonte.
OโFarrill has won multiple Grammys for compositions in the albums Cuba: The Conversation Continues, Familia: Tribute to Chico and Bebo, and Four Questions. About Veronica Swift
Still early in her professional career, Swift has already developed an impressive repertoire. Raised in Charlottesville, she recorded her first album, Veronicaโs House of Jazz, when she was only nine years old. Since graduating from college in 2016, Swift has performed and/or toured with a host of jazz luminaries, including trumpeters Wynton Marsalis and Chris Botti and pianists Benny Green, Michael Feinstein, and Emmet Cohen. On This Bitter Earth, her most recent album, Swift covers multiple genres, including jazz, American musicals, vintage R&B, and contemporary rock.
