About Kirk Whalum
Soulful, passionate, stirring ... these are the words most often used to describe Kirk Whalum’s music. An in-demand session player for decades, it is his sax heard on Whitney Houston’s mega-hit “I Will Always Love You.” Whalum soon followed this career high point with his phenomenal hit album For You, perhaps the most successful of over 25 solo recordings to date; others include his eclectic and much lauded Gospel According to Jazz series.

About Chanté Moore
During a decades-spanning career, sophisticated vocalist Chanté Moore has placed over a dozen songs on Billboard’s R&B chart. In 1992 Moore was featured on El DeBarge’s Top 15 R&B single “You Know What I Like,” and she released her debut, Precious. her albums include Things That Lovers Do (2003), Love the Woman (2008) and Moore Is More (2013). She appeared in TV One’s R&B Divas spin-off, R&B Divas LA. Albums The Rise of the Phoenix and Christmas Back to You followed in 2017.

Please keep an eye out for our Know before You Go email, which will be sent a few weeks before the concert. Also feel free to reach out to Moses.T.AlexanderGreene@ncdcr.gov should you have any questions.
