This course introduces students to the reimagined People’s Collection and examines the curatorial intentions in exploring themes of power, place, and identity. Students gain insights and unravel layers of history, context, and practice associated with works in the collection. Special focus on process, content, and subject matter will elicit responses and critical thinking, crucial for advancing one’s own art practice.

Class is directed toward educating the student on how to better use the Museum as a resource to advance their art.

This course consists of six classes: two lectures within the Museum galleries and four studio classes held at the Diamante Arts and Cultural Center.
