This six-part course introduces the student to the practice of painting by examining the fundamental languages of painting: line/edge, form, value, color, and composition. In two gallery lectures instructor Peter Marin acquaints participants with the People's Collection; students explore a diverse range of works on display, which will be used to illustrate the lessons. The course also includes studio time and take-home assignments.
Any wet medium is welcome. No experience is required. Supplies for this class are not included; students will be responsible for bringing their own materials.
