Join artist Noelle Gunn as we delve into the world of Dutch still life painting and discover its connections to the era of exploration. In this immersive class, you'll not only study and appreciate the masterful techniques displayed in the exhibition Dutch Art in a Global Age: Masterpieces from the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston but also bring your own artistic vision to life.
By incorporating objects of your choice, you'll create personalized still life compositions that reflect your unique perspective. Under Gunn’s guidance the class unravels the hidden narratives within meticulously arranged objects, such as Chinese porcelain, Dutch delftware, and silver, that hint at an extensive network of global trade and cultural exchange. In this enriching exploration of Dutch art in a global age, creativity and historical context intertwine in a studio setting.
